MISSION

The mission of Toledo Leaders for the Clubs is to increase awareness, foster goodwill and raise funds to support the mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Toledo. TLC will focus these efforts on expanding the base of advocates who will champion the cause in Toledo and its surrounding communities.

ABOUT

For more than a dozen years, our local Club has held a spring or fall fundraising luncheon called the TLC. The luncheon is moving to Renaissance Hotel Downtown Toledo and attracts prominent leaders from Northwest Ohio and Southeastern Michigan. Many who come to TLC are current donors, trustees, and community leaders. The Stand Up for Youth donation drive occurs every year at this event, bolstered by local and national speakers. Previous speakers include Christine Brennan, Roxanne Spillet, Lucille O'Neal and former Mayor of Toledo Mike Bell. Speakers this year will highlight life-changing Club experiences, current programming news, and goals for expansion in the Toledo area.

Keynote Speaker:
Judge Glenda Hatchett

Taking place Friday, May 3, 2024, the Luncheon will run from noon to 1 p.m.
with doors opening at 11 a.m. at the Renaissance Hotel Downtown Toledo Mosaic Ballroom.

Judge Glenda A. Hatchett graduated from Mt. Holyoke College and Emory University of Law and spent 10 years at Delta Air Lines, where she was the airlines' highest-ranking woman of color worldwide.

The founder of Hatchett Consulting Group, Hatchett has over 40 years of combined experience as an attorney, judge, crisis management expert, mediator, and television talent, addressing legal issues and consulting in the areas of crisis communications, risk management and inspirational and motivational speaking.

She is a member of both the Georgia Bar and the Bar of the District of Columbia and has served on the Boards of three Fortune 500 companies – HCA, The Gap Inc. and ServiceMaster Co.

Hatchett presided over the two-time Emmy-nominated nationally syndicated show, "Judge Hatchett" for 23 seasons. She is also the author of the national bestsellers, "Say What You Mean and Mean What You Say" and "Dare to Take Charge."

Most recently, Hatchett has returned to TV in her new television court series, "The Verdict with Judge Hatchett."

Hatchett has consistently shown her commitment to community development through her service on various nonprofit boards including the National Board of Governors of Boys & Girls Clubs of America; the Leadership Circle for the After School Alliance and the Advisory Board for the Women’s Resource Center at Spelman College; and she formerly served on the Board of Advisors for PlayPumps International. Presently, Hatchett serves as the national spokesperson for Court Appointed Special Advocates, or CASA, a non-profit volunteer organization that trains volunteers to represent abused and neglected children.
