BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF TOLEDO’S FIFTH LOCATION SET TO OPEN AND BEGIN PROGRAMMING

Brand new Schoenrock Family Club to begin programming this Fall in the Rogers-McTigue-Keyser school district

TOLEDO, OH – September 3, 2021 — On September 1, First Tee – Lake Erie, Boys & Girls Clubs of Toledo (BGCT), and ProMedica opened the new Dattilo Family Youth Leadership Center and Spartan Chemical Golf Complex. This is the home of the Schoenrock Family Boys & Girls Club, BGCT’s fifth Club location in the Toledo area. This first-of-its-kind facility will fulfill the aligning missions of both BGCT and First Tee and make an impact on the future leaders of the Toledo community, the youth.

Located at 4450 Hill Avenue, the Schoenrock Family Club will reach a population of youth and part of the city the Clubs are not currently present in, the Rogers-McTigue-Keyser school district. Members will have a dual membership to both Boys & Girls Clubs and First Tee – Lake Erie, benefitting from all programming available on property, including the Spartan Chemical Golf Complex. 

“We are really looking forward to growing our partnership and collaboration with First Tee – Lake Erie. It’s very exciting to be a part of this first-of-its-kind facility and the first Boys & Girls Club chapter to be directly partnering with First Tee on this large of a scale,” said Ryan Geske, Director of Operations, BGCT.

The core of this Club’s programming will align with everything done at the other Club locations; the Homer Hanham Club, Carson Family Club, East Toledo Club, and the David Wehrmeister Club. Programming activities mainly focus on our three pillars of the Formula for Impact; Academic Success, Good Character & Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles. 

“The Clubs are looking forward to offering our outstanding programming to a fifth location, expanding the mission’s reach to even more youth in Toledo. I’m excited that the game of golf will be offered at the Schoenrock Family Club as it is not a typical sport to many of our members. This collaboration with First Tee – Lake Erie will not only expose our members to golf, but also all of the wonderful and important things that happen around the game and the course,” said Gerri Peters, Assistant Director of Programming, BGCT.

The Schoenrock Family Club will open for programming later in the month of September.
